My 2002 Chevy Blazer 4.3 Vortec V6 4WD is hard to start. When you turn over the engine it may crank for 10 seconds and the engire will not start. Then on the second attempt to start the engine will start but idle very rough (200 RPM or so) after 5- 10 seconds of rough idling it will idle normal (700 RPM) and everything runs fine. 4) Offer him the $50 to do a Crank Relearn (the instructions appear on the screen of the TechII, so it's near impossible to mess it up) Rest in Peace, J.D. I’m pretty sure most of the tuning comes from an increase in boost pressure. The same engine made 200 HP in the Audi TT, but it was detuned to only 150 HP in the Passat (and other VWs) from what I’ve gathered. May 22, 2019 · They told me to take it to a dealer that the Tech-2 scanner might be able to tell me what was causing the crank relearn from not completing. I did some research on the tech-2 and found that the crank relearn looks at the crank and cam sense for calibrating during the deceleration time. So I looked at the cost of the two sense from rockauto.
Pull the oil filter top and have someone crank it while you watch to see if any oil is flowing into the filter housing. If not then it is a LPO problem. Take a long extension and hold down the check valve (round black thing held up by a spring). Have someone crank the engine. Ah, it could be that you need tweaking of the airflow tables in the tune to accommodate for the extra flow. Bigger throttle body on a SC does help. Also, it is a good idea to perform a throttle relearn when swapping out TBs. Unfortunately it's done with a scan tool (like a witech) or HP tuners VCM scanner software. When i check codes I get U0100 that can't be cleared. I have Ohmed out the Data Link and there is 0.1 Ohms of resistance which is well within spec, so the only thing I can figure is the 30 minute Passlock relearn is not working or the BCM is shot. I have a Tech II on the way so I can actually test modules to try and find where the issue lies.

It seems that tuners, to date, can only get that right enough to produce about 100 hp.. 585's PLUS VP60's - Huge increase in air flow AND a shortened power stroke. In this case, all that (huge) additional air also must be burned very quickly - AFR and Ignition must be at, or very close, to perfect, in order for the full benefit to be realized.
